Symposium 2020 Update

Dear Friends of NWNW,

We hope this email finds you well and that you’ve found a safe way to enjoy the warming weather! We are writing to let you know that the 2020 New Wine, New Wineskins Symposium at the University of Notre Dame has been canceled. These are challenging times and this is sad news to deliver. Nevertheless, your NWNW Board of Directors is energized and we’re looking toward the future: see below for details, including info on the Virtual New Wineskins Event scheduled for July 31, 2020!

The primary factor in the decision to cancel this year’s NWNW Symposium was the notice we received that Moreau Seminary and Notre Dame campus will not be hosting conference events this summer. Although not a surprise, given the many coronavirus-related challenges being navigated worldwide, we know you share in our disappointment. The registration fees we received will be refunded. Those who submitted paper proposals will be contacted personally.

Thank you to our institutional sponsors and everyone who submitted a proposal for this year’s symposium! As mentioned in our last email, we were delighted by both the quality and the large number of proposals we received. We are especially grateful for the excitement we saw building for the 2020 NWNW symposium and we’re looking forward to what this means for the NWNW network in the coming years!

Save the Date: New Wineskins Virtual Event, Friday, July 31, 2020 (exact time to TBD).

  • The plans are still in the works and our guests have yet to be confirmed, but this is one virtual event that you do not want to miss! Keep an eye out for schedule, contributors, and the senior scholars who will be joining us!

We hope you are safe and that you’ve discovered unexpected joys during this time apart. We look forward to gathering with you for the New Wineskins Virtual Event in July!

Very Sincerely,

Matthew
